The 4th annual bookmark design contest had another successful year, with a wonderful display of creativity and talent. The students did an amazing job interpreting this year's theme, “Get Lost in A Good Book...”. We received 186 bookmark entries this year. Thank you to everyone who participated, the decisions were not easy thanks to all your hard work!
Thank you to Malaika Silliker and Rachna Marolia for your help awarding prizes & judging as well as our remaining panel of amazing judges this year! (Volunteers: Vanessa Christensen, McGinnes Ladd, Parvoneh Neilsen & Maryam Jaddoo and Staff: Malia Goodfellow, Kirsten Baker, Michelle Byon, Cathy Webb, Manjit Pohar).
The three grade-level winners received art supply kits and will also have their bookmarks printed to be available to everyone during library class after Spring Break. Finalists each received a certificate and crayons/colored pencils. Teachers will return entries, where possible, and provide details on how to retrieve unlabeled entries. All entries will be on display as a poster in the hallway outside the library and at Gallery Walk June 4th.
