$ DONATION MATCHING

Did you make a donation to the PTSA? Your employer may match your donation and DOUBLE your impact!

Mark Twain PTSA is a registered US 501(c)(3) charity. Your donations are Tax Deductible and qualify for company matching funds.

Take advantage of your employer's matching program by reporting any donations you make to the Mark Twain PTSA. If you are not sure if your company has a matching gifts program, contact your company's benefits team.

We know the following companies DO have a matching program:

Corporate Matching & Donor Recognition

When raising money during a capital campaign that is tied with donor recognition, the Twain PTSA typically recognizes donors at the level that they personally give, not including company matching.   While the matching funds are just as valuable as any other funds, we often don't actually know who the matching funds come from.  We receive matching funds through a common vendor that keeps a fee and doesn't relay the origin of the funds.

If a donor requests that we consider using the matching funds from their employer towards a higher recognition level, the donor must verify their matching fund receipt in the following ways:

  1. Provide the receipt for the application of matching funds and sufficient correspondence.
  2. Include the donor name in any "notes" field within the software that manages the match (i.e. Benevity.)

Twain PTSA will attempt to connect the receipt of the matching funds with the original donor. If Twain PTSA is able to identify the corporate match with the original donation, the donor will receive recognition for the amount of their donation PLUS the company match. If Twain PTSA is not able to successfully identify the matching funds with the donor by the end of the campaign, the donor will be recognized at their individual giving level without the company matching funds.

VOLUNTEER hours MATCHING

The hours you volunteer in the classroom, on a field trip or for a PTSA event can equals $$ for Twain PTSA! For example, for every hour that a Microsoft employee volunteers at Twain Elementary, Microsoft donates $25 to our PTSA and there is no minimum number of hours needed to become match eligible.

Microsoft Volunteer Time Matching

Your Volunteer Time Equals $$ every hour for Twain PTSA! For every hour that a Microsoft employee volunteers at Twain Elementary, Microsoft donates $25 to our PTSA.

There is no minimum number of hours that must be reached to be match eligible. The Microsoft Volunteer Time Matching Program is available year-round. Microsoft Employees can log and track volunteer hours by using the giving portal.

Examples of giving include:

  • Volunteering in your child's classroom
  • Time spent volunteering as a PTSA board member
  • Time planning, organizing, or working at school or related events

If you are a Microsoft employee, find out more about volunteer matching.

If you have questions, please contact the fundraising chair.
