A Big Book Fair Thank You!

We just wrapped up another amazing Book Fair thanks to our indefatigable librarian, Ms. Cathy! Because of her hard work and our amazing Twain community, this book fair was the second highest grossing book fair in the last 11 years (only second to when our school had ~100 more students).

A big thank you to PTSA VPs McGinnes Ladd and Audrey Adler for all your support and the amazing decorations that transported us right into a “Wings of Fire” book!

As a result of the Book Fair:

• The Twain PTSA was able to donate certificates worth $1,150 so that all of our students had the opportunity to enjoy the book fair, regardless of cost.
• The Twain PTSA also donated $700 worth of books for teachers in addition to those donated by families.
• Twain earned $6,350 in credit for the library to purchase books from the Scholastic catalog.

We would like to give a big thank you to the Twain community members who volunteered their time to help make the Book Fair a success: Savitha Swaminathan, Lauren Van Wassenhove, Rebecca Westby, Ashish Amarnath, Kim Christensen, Amanda Jackson, Malaika Silliker, Erin Marshall, Alex De Obeso, Chris Boehnen, Maryam Jaddoo, Ti’Erra Caldwell Wilson, Parvoneh Neilsen, Morgan Olson, Molly Honig, Kathryn Ceizyk, Jessica Lake, Janani Kartik, and Manjit Pohar. A huge shout out to Heather Scott, our Treasurer, for all of her help. We would also like to give honorable mentions to Saunders Bell, Dash Adler, Rudy Thum, Kate Silliker, Clara Boehnen, Levi Wilson, Calvin Lake, Sixten Benchemsi, and Evelyn Neilsen. If you see Ms. Cathy in the hall, please give her a big “thank you” for all of her hard work!
